Privacy Policy

Last Updated: February 15, 2025

At Pira Study, we understand that privacy matters. This isn't just legal text — it's a straightforward explanation of how we handle your information when you use our web typography education platform.

We're based in Warsaw, Poland, which means we follow European data protection standards (GDPR) and Polish data protection laws. But more importantly, we believe in being transparent about what we collect and why.

Who We Are

Pira Study operates from Powstańców Śląskich 106C, 01-494 Warszawa, Poland. We provide online courses focused on web typography and related design skills. When we talk about "we," "us," or "our" in this document, we're referring to Pira Study as the data controller responsible for your personal information.

You can reach our team at help@web-ex-app.com or call us at +48669144944 if you have questions about how we handle your data.

Information We Collect

Let's be direct about what information we gather. We only collect what we actually need to run the platform and improve your learning experience.

Information You Give Us Directly

  • Your name and email address when you create an account
  • Payment information when you enroll in courses (processed securely through our payment partners)
  • Profile details you choose to add, like your experience level or learning goals
  • Messages you send through our contact form or support channels
  • Work you submit as part of course assignments or projects

Information We Collect Automatically

  • Technical details like your IP address, browser type, and device information
  • How you interact with our platform — which courses you view, lessons you complete, time spent learning
  • Cookies and similar technologies that help the site function properly
  • Error logs and performance data that help us fix technical issues

We don't sell your personal information to third parties. Period. That's not our business model, and it never will be.

How We Use Your Information

Here's what we actually do with the data we collect:

  • Provide access to courses you've enrolled in and track your progress
  • Send you important updates about courses, schedule changes, or platform improvements
  • Process payments and manage billing for course enrollments
  • Respond to your questions and provide technical support when needed
  • Improve our course content based on how students engage with materials
  • Detect and prevent fraud or unauthorized access to accounts
  • Comply with legal requirements under Polish and EU law

We base our data processing on several legal grounds under GDPR:

Purpose Legal Basis
Providing course access and platform services Contract performance
Marketing communications about new courses Your consent (which you can withdraw)
Platform improvements and analytics Legitimate business interests
Legal compliance and financial records Legal obligation

Sharing Your Information

We keep your data within a small circle of trusted partners who help us run the platform. Here's who might see your information and why:

Essential Service Providers

  • Payment processors who handle transactions securely (they never share full payment details with us)
  • Cloud hosting services that store course materials and your account data
  • Email service providers that send you course updates and notifications
  • Analytics tools that help us understand how students use the platform

When Law Requires It

Sometimes we're legally required to share information — like responding to valid court orders or cooperating with Polish authorities in legitimate investigations. We'll always verify the legitimacy of such requests before sharing anything.

All third-party services we use are carefully vetted and bound by strict confidentiality agreements. They can only use your data for the specific purposes we authorize.

Your Rights Under GDPR

European data protection law gives you substantial control over your personal information. Here's what you can do:

Access Your Data

You can request a copy of all personal information we hold about you. We'll provide this in a readable format within 30 days.

Correct Inaccurate Information

If any details we have are wrong or outdated, you can update them directly in your account settings or ask us to correct them.

Delete Your Account

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data. We'll honor this except where we need to keep records for legal compliance (like financial transactions, which we must retain for tax purposes).

Restrict Processing

You can ask us to limit how we use your data in certain situations — for example, if you're contesting the accuracy of information.

Data Portability

You can request your data in a machine-readable format to transfer to another service.

Object to Processing

You can object to processing based on legitimate interests, and we'll stop unless we have compelling grounds to continue.

Withdraw Consent

For processing based on consent (like marketing emails), you can withdraw permission at any time. This won't affect any processing that happened before you withdrew consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at help@web-ex-app.com with your request. We'll respond within one month, though complex requests might take up to three months with explanation.

Data Security

We take reasonable precautions to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. This includes:

  • Encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data transmitted to and from our platform
  • Secure password storage using industry-standard hashing
  • Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Limited employee access to personal data on a need-to-know basis
  • Secure backup systems to prevent data loss

That said, no online platform is 100% secure. While we work hard to protect your data, we can't guarantee absolute security. You play a role too — use a strong, unique password and don't share your account credentials.

How Long We Keep Your Data

We don't keep information longer than necessary. Here's our general approach:

  • Active account data: Retained as long as your account remains active
  • Course completion records: Kept for 7 years to provide proof of completion and meet educational record standards
  • Financial records: Retained for 6 years as required by Polish tax law
  • Marketing consent records: Kept until you withdraw consent, plus 3 years to prove compliance
  • Technical logs: Usually deleted after 90 days unless needed for security investigations

When you close your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except for records we're legally required to keep.

Cookies and Tracking

Like most websites, we use cookies — small text files stored on your device. Here's a breakdown of what we use:

Essential Cookies

These keep the platform working. They remember your login status, course progress, and preferences. You can't disable these without breaking the site's functionality.

Analytics Cookies

We use these to understand how students interact with courses — what works well and what doesn't. This helps us improve content and navigation. You can opt out of analytics tracking in your account settings.

No Advertising Cookies

We don't use cookies for targeted advertising or share your browsing behavior with ad networks.

Most browsers let you control cookies through settings. Be aware that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from using the platform properly.

International Data Transfers

Our servers are primarily located within the European Economic Area. However, some service providers we use (like cloud hosting) may process data outside the EEA.

When we transfer data internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place — typically standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission, or we work with providers certified under recognized data protection frameworks.

If you're accessing our platform from outside Poland, your information may be transferred to and processed in Poland where our company is based.

Children's Privacy

Our platform is designed for adults and older teenagers pursuing web typography skills. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16 without parental consent.

If we discover we've collected data from someone under 16 without proper consent, we'll delete it promptly. If you believe we have information about a child under 16, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We update this policy occasionally to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email and post a notice on the platform.

The "Last Updated" date at the top tells you when we last revised this document. We encourage you to review it periodically, especially before starting a new course or when you notice the date has changed.

Continued use of the platform after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.

Complaints and Concerns

If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, please reach out to us first at help@web-ex-app.com. We'll do our best to resolve any concerns.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Polish data protection authority (UODO - Urząd Ochrony Danych Osobowych) or your local supervisory authority if you're in another EU country.
